DUXBURY — A 39-year-old man from Swanton was arrested following a crash in Duxbury yesterday.
The two-vehicle crash took place on River Road at around 11:50 a.m.
Police say that Edward Reardon had been driving east on River Road in the opposite lane of travel.
An oncoming vehicle attempted to swerve around Reardon but collided with the front of his truck.
Police say two occupants of this vehicle were transported to Central Vermont Hospital with minor injuries.
While speaking with Reardon, police say they detected indicators of drug impairment.
Reardon was placed under arrest for suspicion of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs.
Troopers located heroin in the vicinity of Reardon while searching him.
He has been transported to the Vermont State Police Berlin barracks for processing for the charges of driving under the influence of drugs, grossly negligent operation, and possession of heroin.
