Police release details in Washington County shootings

BERLIN — Police have released new details into the shootings that occurred late Saturday in Washington County.

The victim of the Waterbury shooting has been identified as James Eggleston, 20, of Hudson Falls, New York.

He was treated for a gunshot wound at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington and subsequently discharged.

Following additional investigation, the Vermont State Police identified the location where the shooting occurred as behind the Gulf gas station at 1 North Main Street.

Three suspects, including the individual who shot the victim, were last seen leaving the area on foot.

All three suspects are described as young white men.

The other two people in the car with Eggleston were uninjured.

Detectives believe the shooting was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the community.

In the Woodbury shooting, troopers arrested Brian McAndrew, 38, of Woodbury on charges of attempted second-degree murder and first-degree aggravated domestic assault.

He was ordered jailed without bail.

The victim, Andrew Brown, 35, of Lyndonville, was receiving treatment for serious injuries at UVMMC.
