POWNAL — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries in Pownal yesterday.
The crash took place on US Route 7 at around 4:10 p.m.
Police say both vehicles were traveling south at the time of the incident.
One of the drivers was identified as Robbie Peruzzi, 39, Bennington, and the other driver was identified as Annette Morse, 74, of Bennington.
Morse was turning left onto School House Road, and Peruzzi was traveling behind Morse prior to the crash.
Police say Morse applied the brakes and decreased her speed as she turned onto School House Road.
Peruzzi collided with the rear-end of Morse.
The rear-end collision resulted in significant damage to both vehicles, which required the cars to be towed from the scene.
Police say both drivers reported injuries and were transported to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for further evaluation.
Vermont State Police were assisted by Pownal Rescue Squad, Pownal Fire Department, and Southern Vermont Towing Service.
