WESTFORD — A 27-year-old woman from Cambridge was charged with excessive speeding in Westford yesterday.

Authorities say they were conducting motor vehicle enforcement on Route 15 in the Westford/Underhill area as part of a Governor’s Highway Safety Program at around 3:15 p.m.

Troopers say they observed a Honda CRV traveling west on Route 15 at a high rate of speed.

Radar confirmed the driver was traveling 81 miles-per-hour in the clearly posted 50 miles-per-hour zone.

This portion of Route 15 has several blind hills, sharp corners, and private driveways.

The driver was stopped and identified as Mikela Freeman.

Freeman was ultimately released with a citation ordering her to appear in court on September 13.
