Teen seriously injured during crash in Charleston

CHARLESTON — An 18-year-old from Island Pond was seriously injured during a crash in Charleston yesterday.

Authorities were notified of a single-vehicle crash on Vermont Route 105 at around 7:35 p.m.

According to the report, the juvenile was traveling east when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a utility pole.

The vehicle overturned during the crash, and the teen was ejected from the vehicle.

He was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center for injuries and remains in critical condition.

Following an investigation, police say he was impaired while operating the vehicle.

Witnesses on the scene reported he was speeding and passing cars prior to crashing.
