CAMBRIDGE — A 53-year-old woman from Jeffersonville was arrested following an incident in Waterville yesterday.
Authorities say they were notified by VTRANS that a woman struck a telephone pole with her vehicle on Route 109 at around 12:45 p.m.
A VTRANS employee checked on the woman and she told them that she was fine.
Police say the woman decided to drive away from the scene after causing property damage, without notifying law enforcement.
The VTRANS employee believed the woman was under the influence, so a be on the lookout was issued for the vehicle.
A trooper located the vehicle on Route 109 in Cambridge.
While speaking with the operator, identified as Kristen Connolly, several indications of alcohol impairment were detected, police say.
Connolly was arrested without incident and transported to the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department for processing.
She was released with a citation to appear in court on July 13.
