SPRINGFIELD — Police are investigating a shooting that took place this afternoon in Springfield.
Initial reports indicate that an adult man was hit by gunfire and injured at about 2:30 p.m. on Valley Street.
The extent of his injuries is currently unknown.
Police have detained several individuals in connection with the ongoing investigation.
Members of the Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Field Force Division, along with officers from the Springfield Police Department, are on the scene.
