Driver injured during single-vehicle crash in Bridport

BRIDPORT — A 34-year-old man from Shelburne was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Bridport early this morning.

The crash took place at the intersection of Vermont Route 22A and Short Street at around 3:25 a.m.

Police identified the driver and sole occupant as Jacob Cribbs.

According to the report, Cribbs was traveling north on Vermont Route 22A when he exited the road and struck a stop sign.

Cribbs was transported by Middlebury Regional EMS to Porter Medical Center for injuries.

Short Street was closed to traffic for around one hour.

Police say neither speed nor impairment was contributing factor in the crash.

State Police were assisted on the scene by members of the Bridport Fire Department.
