SHOREHAM — A 41-year-old man was cited for leaving the scene of an accident in Shoreham on Saturday.

Authorities say they were notified of a hit-and-run motor vehicle incident on Vermont Route 22A during the day.

The crash caused significant damage to a pasture fence.

Based on vehicular evidence left at the scene, police allege that Brian Sheldon, of Shoreham, was the driver of the vehicle that caused damage to the fence.

Police say Sheldon did not abide by his duty to stop and failed to provide his name and other necessary documents to property owner Judy Sabourin, 60, of Shoreham.

He was cited to appear in court at a later date and time.
