Police: Citizen dispute leads to arrest in Panton

PANTON — A 41-year-old man from Middlebury was arrested following an incident in Panton yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified of a citizen dispute on Spaulding Road at around 10:40 a.m.

During the course of the investigation, it was found that Brian Sheldon had trespassed on a property that he was ordered not to.

Additionally, Sheldon drove a motor vehicle with a criminally suspended license and violated conditions of release not to drive.

He was placed under arrest and transported to the Vergennes Police Department for processing.

He was issued a citation to appear in court on May 11 to answer the charges of violation of conditions, criminal DLS, and unlawful trespass.

State Police was assisted on the scene by members of the Vergennes Police Department.
