BARRE — A 61-year-old man from Williamstown was arrested following an incident in Barre yesterday.
Police say they initiated a traffic stop for an observed violation on South Main Street at around 1:40 p.m.
While speaking with the driver, identified as Richard Fanton, indicators of drug impairment were detected.
Fanton was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI drugs and transported to the State Police barracks in Middlesex for processing.
Police say Fanton had active court-ordered conditions of release not to buy, have, or use regulated drugs.
He was issued a citation to appear in court today and released for the charges of DUI drugs and violation of conditions of release.
