DERBY — A 38-year-old man from Brighton was cited for retail theft following an incident in Derby on Tuesday.
Police say they were notified of a Retail Theft at the Tractor Supply at around 7:30 p.m.
According to the report, the man fled on foot with multiple items after passing the point of sale without paying.
Nearby troopers located a man matching the description on Commerce Way, just down the road from the store.
The man was identified as Robert Ingram.
Police say Ingram at the time was holding a grocery bag filled with miscellaneous new tools.
Lacking a receipt of the property, and accompanied by security footage evidence, the tools were returned to the store.
The total value of the tools stolen was $494.81.
Ingram was issued a citation for the violation.
