MONDAY 03-28-22

  • Conducted Patrols in 8 towns. Traffic stops were conducted for motor vehicle violations with warnings and/ or tickets issued.
  • Overweight Violation – Monkton – While on patrol on Monkton Ridge Rd, the Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement deputy observed a Tractor Trailer operating on a weight restricted road. The TT unit was stopped and did not have a permit to be operating on that road. The vehicle was weighed, and it was 85,000 lbs overweight. A ticket was issued for the violation. Since this was the second violation by this company within one year, the fine was increased.
  • Public Assist – Middlebury – Received a call from an individual that needed help regarding a child custody issue. Although there was no violation, an officer helped the family fill out paperwork to submit to the court so that a judge could review the case.
  • Agency Assist – Middlebury – The Middlebury Police Department arrested an individual on an extraditable warrant from New Hampshire. A deputy transported this person to jail to wait for officers from New Hampshire to pick them up.

TUESDAY 03-29-22

  • Conducted Patrols in 7 towns. Traffic stops were conducted for motor vehicle violations with warnings and/ or tickets issued.
  • Tuesday is our fingerprinting day! If you need your fingerprints taken for any purpose, please call our office at (802) 388-2981 for further details and to schedule an appointment.
  • Fraud – Bristol – As part of another investigation, it was found that an individual was using a charge account at a local store that they were not authorized to be using. The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
  • VIN Verification – Middlebury – Provided a VIN verification for a resident. We provide this service for free to any Addison County resident, so please call our office to have a deputy come by if you need this done.

WEDNESDAY 03-30-22

  • Conducted Patrols in 10 towns. Traffic stops were conducted for motor vehicle violations with warnings and/ or tickets issued.
  • Overweight Violation – Monkton – While on patrol on Monkton Rd, the Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement deputy observed a Tractor Trailer operating on a weight restricted road. The TT unit was stopped and did not have a permit to be operating on that road. The vehicle was weighed, and it was 34,000 lbs overweight. A ticket was issued for the violation.

THURSDAY 03-31-22

  • Conducted Patrols in 3 towns. Traffic stops were conducted for motor vehicle violations with warnings and/ or tickets issued.
  • Due to a higher than normal request for fingerprints, a second day was opened up to allow people to come in. As always, please call to set up a time for an appointment.
  • Training – Police Academy – 3 Deputies attended a Motor Vehicle Crash course to learn how to investigate and report crashes.
  • Overweight Violation – Monkton – While on patrol on Monkton Rd, the Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement deputy observed a Tractor Trailer operating on a weight restricted road. The TT unit was stopped and did not have a permit to be operating on that road. The vehicle was weighed, and it was 8,000 lbs overweight. A ticket was issued for the violation.
  • Solid Waste Complaint (Dumping) – Starksboro – A resident called to advise that they witnessed 2 people remove over 20 bags of trash from their vehicle and leave them in a pull-off. Due to some of the trash ending up in a stream, the clean up and investigation is ongoing.

FRIDAY 04-01-22

  • Conducted Patrols in 5 towns. Traffic stops were conducted for motor vehicle violations with warnings and/ or tickets issued.
  • Training – Police Academy – 3 Deputies attended a Motor Vehicle Crash course to learn how to investigate and report crashes.

MONDAY – FRIDAY

  • Provided security at the Mahady Courthouse in Middlebury. This includes screening visitors as they enter the Courthouse and security in the Courtroom during hearings.
  • Several deputies served paperwork for Civil Process.
  • A recruit participated in training with the department training officers and classes at the Vermont Police Academy.
