POULTNEY — A 22-year-old woman was arrested for simple assault and cruelty to a child following an incident in Poultney yesterday.
Authorities say they were notified of an assault at a home at around 7:00 p.m.
Police allege that Shania Goyette, of Poultney, attempted to cause physical injury to Juan Sanchez.
Police say that in doing so, she caused a juvenile to be assaulted.
Goyette was located at her home and taken into custody and transported to the State Police Rutland barracks for processing.
She was issued a criminal citation to appear in court on April 25 to answer the charges.
