Traffic stop leads to multiple drug charges in Montpelier

MONTPELIER — A 22-year-old woman from Northfield is facing numerous charges following a traffic stop in Montpelier on March 15.

Police say during the stop, illicit drug use was observed within the vehicle and a Vermont State Police K9 was requested to the scene.

The K9 alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics within the vehicle and a consent search was conducted.

This resulted in the discovery of a significant amount of various illegal drugs and related paraphernalia.

Police say Rhiannon Chesaux was charged with felony possession of cocaine, distribution of cocaine, possession of regulated drug (hallucinogen), possession of regulated drug (stimulant).

She was arrested at the scene.
