Hit-and-run crash in Arlington results in DUI arrest

ARLINGTON — A 54-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Arlington yesterday.

Authorities say a be on the lookout for a silver truck was issued on VT Route 7A through Arlington at around 9:15 p.m.

A caller told police that he saw the truck strike another vehicle and that the truck continued, unable to maintain its lane.

Police intercepted the truck as it turned from Vt Route 7A onto Russell Street.

The driver, identified as Robert A. Aubin, of Arlington, was found to be driving under the influence and had damage on his truck to support the caller’s claim of a crash occurring.

Police say they arrested Aubin for DUI #1 and LSA.

He is set to appear in court on April 11 for his arraignment.

The crash aspect of this case is still under investigation, as the vehicle hit by Aubin has not yet been identified.

Anyone with information about that vehicle is being encouraged to report it to the Vermont State Police.
