Police: DNA evidence identifies driver who fled after Swanton crash

ST. ALBANS — A 26-year-old woman from Swanton was cited following a single-vehicle crash that took place in St. Albans back in December.

On December 8, 2021, authorities were notified of a single-vehicle collision on I-89 north at around 8:40 a.m.

The driver had fled the scene when they arrived.

Police say the driver was identified as Jesse Sweet through DNA evidence.

Today, Sweet was issued a citation to appear in court on April 18 for leaving the scene of an accident and driving license suspended criminal.
