ESSEX — Police are investigating after shots were fired in Essex yesterday.
The incident took place in the area of River Road and Sand Hill Road at around 6:40 p.m.
The victim told police that several shots were fired in his direction by a suspect in a dark sport utility vehicle.
He was uninjured during the shooting.
The suspect fled the area and the vehicle was last seen driving north on Sand Hill Road.
From statements and information gathered at this time, police say it is possible that the two parties may be known to each other.
Police searched the area but the vehicle was not located.
The shooting is still under investigation, and police ask anyone with information to contact the Essex Police Department at 802-878-8331.
