Police: Drunk driver clocked doing 114 mph in Pittsford

PITTSFORD — A 23-year-old man from Clarendon was arrested following an incident in Pittsford yesterday.

Police say they located a vehicle that was the subject of a be on the lookout traveling south on US 7 at a high rate of speed.

Police identified the driver of the vehicle as Patrick Covell.

During the investigation, police say Covell showed signs of impairment and was screened for DUI.

He was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and transported to the Vermont State Police Rutland barracks for processing.

After processing, Covell was released with a citation to appear in court at a later date and time for the charges of DUI, and negligent operation.

He was issued several Vermont Civil Violation Complaints including one for a speed of 114 miles-per-hour in a posted 50 miles-per-hour zone with a fine amount of $931.
