EAST MONTPELIER — A 63-year-old man was arrested for domestic assault following an incident in East Montpelier early this morning.
Authorities say they called to a welfare check at around 1:00 a.m.
Police say they responded to the home and spoke with the victim and Michael Ciampi, of East Montpelier.
Police allege that Ciampi assaulted a household member.
Ciampi was taken into custody and transported to the Middlesex barracks for processing.
He was issued a citation to appear in court today.
