GUILFORD — A 22-year-old man from New York was arrested following an incident in Guilford yesterday.
Police say that Daniel Gates, of Stony Brook, NY, was arrested after the vehicle he was operating was observed traveling south near the Welcome Center at 104 miles-per-hour in the posted 65 mile-per-hour speed zone.
Daniel was released on a citation to appear in court at a later date for the charges of excessive speed, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
He was also issued a traffic ticket for the civil speeding violation which carries a potential waiver penalty of $586 and 2 points.
