RUTLAND — An 18-year-old man was arrested for attempting to elude police for a second time in Rutland.

On February 16, police say they initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Business Route 4 for an observed motor vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed at around 1:45 a.m.

After Troopers activated their emergency blue lights and siren, the vehicle fled.

Yesterday, at around 5:15 p.m, police initiated a traffic stop on the same vehicle on State Street in Rutland.

Police say the vehicle fled the scene again.

Due to the negligent manner of operation, police say they did not pursue the vehicle.

A short time later the vehicle was located in front of a home on Water Street.

The driver was identified as Christopher Keefe.

Keefe was taken into custody and brought to the Rutland barracks for processing.

He was released on a criminal citation to appear in court at a later date and time for the charges of attempting to elude with grossly negligent operation 2x, and license required (Criminal) 2x.
