LEICESTER — A 21-year-old man from Vergennes was arrested for DUI following a crash in Leicester early this morning.
The vehicle crashed into a telephone pole in the area of Lake Dunmore Road at around 3:30 a.m.
Following an investigation, the driver of the vehicle was identified as Kyriek Smith.
While speaking with Smith, police say they detected signs of impairment.
Smith was screened for DUI and placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
He was transported to the New Haven barracks for processing and later released to a sober party with a citation to appear in court at a later date.
Troopers were assisted on the scene by the Middlebury Police Department.
