RUTLAND — A 32-year-old man was arrested for petit larceny following an incident in Rutland on Saturday.

Police say they arrested Nathan M. Stevens, of Rutland, following an investigation into a reported gas drive off.

On January 30, police were called to Stewarts Shoppes in Fair Haven for a reported gas drive-off of $40.00 dollars.

On February 1, police responded to a second drive-off of $30.00 dollars.

Following an investigation, police say Stevens allegedly had gone to Stewarts on both dates to get gas.

Stevens then allegedly left without paying on both occasions.

Springfield police assisted in locating Stevens at the Southeast Correctional Center.

He was issued a citation to appear in court to answer the charge.

Stevens is being held on unrelated charges.
