Vehicle stolen outside Olney’s Store in Orleans

ORLEANS — Police are looking for an individual who stole a car in Orleans on Thursday.

Authorities say they were notified of a motor vehicle theft outside Olney’s General store on Main Street, at around 10:25 a.m.

William Beddie, 54, of St. Johnsbury, told police that his vehicle had been taken while he was inside the store.

The vehicle was a red Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.

It was later located on Barton-Orleans Road in the village of Orleans and returned to its owner.

State police say they are obtaining and reviewing local surveillance footage.

Anyone with information on the identity of the individual who stole the vehicle is being asked to call 802 334 8881.
