Juvenile charged with stealing, cashing winning lottery tickets at Orleans Maplefields

ORLEANS — An 18-year-old juvenile from Barton was cited for grand larceny following an incident in Orleans on Thursday.

Authorities were notified of a theft at the Maplefields service station located on Main Street at around 8:45 p.m.

Police say the juvenile, an employee at the time, had been scanning winning lottery tickets and cashing in the winnings without paying for the tickets.

It was found that the juvenile had stolen upwards of over $1,300 worth of winning lottery tickets.

Police located the juvenile, who was cited and released to appear in family court for the charge.
