MONDAY 02-07-22

  • Conducted Patrols in 9 towns. Traffic stops were conducted for motor vehicle violations with warnings and/ or tickets issued.
  • Overweight Violation – Monkton – While on patrol on Monkton Rd, the Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement deputy observed a Tractor Trailer operating on a weight restricted road. The TT unit was stopped and did not have a permit to be operating on that road. The vehicle was weighed, and it was 22,000 lbs overweight. A ticket was issued for the violation.
  • Community Outreach – Middlebury – Provided space for a supervised visit for Women Safe.

TUESDAY 02-08-22

  • Conducted Patrols in 7 towns. Traffic stops were conducted for motor vehicle violations with warnings and/ or tickets issued.

  • Agency Assist – Orwell – Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 22A at the intersection of Route 73. One operator was transported to the hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to their injuries. The Vermont State Police are the primary investigating agency and have more details available. Deputies assisted with traffic control and assisted Troopers with crash reconstruction measurements.
  • Public Assist – Shoreham – A deputy stood by at a residence while an individual retrieved belongings after being removed from the house due to a Relief from Abuse Order.

WEDNESDAY 02-09-22

  • Conducted Patrols in 5 towns. Traffic stops were conducted for motor vehicle violations with warnings and/ or tickets issued.
  • Arrest – Waltham – While on patrol on Maple St, a deputy observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Radar showed that the vehicle was traveling at 75 mph in a posted 40 mph zone. The operator was arrested, given a citation for Excessive Speed, and released. During the stop, it was discovered that the plates on the vehicle belonged to another car owned by the same operator. The plates were removed and seized and the vehicle was grounded.
  • Agency Assist – Hinesburg, Johnson, Morristown, Middlebury – Attempted paperwork service for the Office of Child Support around the State.

THURSDAY 02-10-22

  • Conducted Patrols in 8 towns. Traffic stops were conducted for motor vehicle violations with warnings and/ or tickets issued.
  • Overweight Violation – Monkton – While on patrol on Silver St, the Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement deputy observed a Tractor Trailer operating on a weight restricted road. The TT unit was stopped and did not have a permit to be operating on that road. The vehicle was weighed, and it was over 14,000 lbs overweight. A ticket was issued for the violation.
  • Transport – Provided a secure transport for an individual from Middlebury to Rutland.

FRIDAY 02-11-22

  • Conducted Patrols in 9 towns. Traffic stops were conducted for motor vehicle violations with warnings and/ or tickets issued.
  • Agency Assist – Leicester – Served paperwork on a resident to assist the State Police.

MONDAY – FRIDAY

  • Provided security at the Mahady Courthouse in Middlebury. This includes screening visitors as they enter the Courthouse and security in the Courtroom during hearings.
  • Several deputies served paperwork for Civil Process.
