MONTPELIER — A 34-year-old man from Barre was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Montpelier on Monday.
Police say when they were on regular patrol and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Berlin Street at around 4:25 p.m.
The driver continued to travel a significant distance after the officer activated their emergency lights and siren before stopping.
It was found that the driver’s privilege to operate a motor vehicle was criminally suspended.
The driver also had multiple sets of court-ordered conditions of release prohibiting him from operating a motor vehicle without a valid operator’s license.
He was arrested and charged with driving with a criminally suspended license, eluding a police officer, and violation of conditions of release.
Police have not released the name of the man arrested at this time.
