Highgate man arrested for DUI, resisting arrest in Swanton

SWANTON — A 38-year-old man from Highgate was arrested for DUI following an incident in Swanton yesterday.

Police say they initiated a traffic stop after observing a motor vehicle violation on Woods Hill Road at around 10:25 p.m.

Police identified the driver as Lee Godin.

While speaking with Godin, police say they detected signs of impairment.

Godin was screened for DUI and placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI #1.

Police also allege he resisted arrest.

He was transported to the St. Albans for processing and later released to a sober party with a citation to appear in court at a later date.
