WHITING — A 38-year-old man from Fair Haven was arrested for eluding law enforcement in Whiting yesterday.
Police say they observed a truck fail to yield for a stop sign at the intersection of Shoreham-Whiting Road and Vermont Route 30, at around 5:45 p.m.
They attempted to stop the truck, which fled south on Vermont Route 30 at a high rate of speed and turned onto Bilodeau Road.
Troopers did not pursue the truck.
The same truck later attempted to elude law enforcement in Rutland and crashed at approximately 6:20 p.m.
Police identified the driver as Nicholas Karov who was taken into custody.
Karov was issued a citation to appear in court at a later date.
