MONTPELIER — Police responded to a head-on collision that occurred in Montpelier last Sunday.
The two-vehicle crash took place on River Street / Route 2 at around 5:20 p.m.
First responders located both vehicles resting where they collided in the roadway at the intersection with Taplin Street.
Police say the occupants of both vehicles reported only minor injuries, had been wearing seatbelts, and were not under the influence.
One of the vehicles lost control on the slippery road and slid into the opposing lane, striking an oncoming car head-on.
Police say both vehicles were heavily damaged in the crash with one being towed from the scene.
