WALDEN — Police responded to a three-vehicle crash in Walden yesterday.

The crash took place on Vermont Route 15 at around 8:50 a.m.

Police say one of the drivers, identified as Sally Fontaine, 62, of Hardwick, was breathing but unresponsive when they arrived.

Fontaine was headed south attempting to turn onto Sawmill Road before the crash.

Dallas Ball, 26, of Sheffield, was headed north when Fontaine hit the front of Ball’s vehicle when traveling down the hill.

Albert Perry, 58, of Jeffersonville, was headed south behind Fontaine’s vehicle, which spun around and made contact with the passenger side of his front bumper.

The road was icy and slick at this time, police say.

Both Ball and Perry were uninjured and able to get out of their vehicles.

Fontaine was transported to UVM Medical Center for life-threatening injuries.
