SHAFTSBURY — A 54-year-old woman from Bennington was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Shaftsbury yesterday.

The crash took place on Town Line Road at around 2:10 p.m.

Police say they observed a motor vehicle off the road and down an embankment when they arrived.

The vehicle hit a power pole off of the roadway.

Town Line Road was temporarily shut down.

The driver told police that she was driving the speed limit of 35 miles-per-hour when she approached a curve in the road.

The vehicle then lost control and went off the road due to the poor road conditions and visibility.

There were no injuries, but the vehicle sustained significant damage to the front end area requiring it to be towed from the scene.

State Police were assisted by Shaftsbury Fire Department, Green Mountain Power, and Leblanc’s Towing Service.
