Police: Student arrested for emailing bomb threat in Montpelier

MONTPELIER — Police say a 19-year-old man from Essex Junction was arrested for providing a false public alarm at a school in Montpelier on Monday.

Authorities were notified of an emailed bomb threat at the campus located on Elm Street at around 6:05 p.m.

According to the report, it did not specify a date, time, or location of the threat and it was found that there was no immediate threat to public safety.

Following an investigation, it was found that the threat to an email address belonged to a current student of the state-wide college system.

Police arrested the man who was involved in the crime.

At this time, police have not released the name of the suspect.
