SHREWSBURY — Police are investigating a structure fire that broke out in Shrewsbury on Monday.

The fire took place on Cold River Road at around 6:15 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered heavy fire coming from the west side of the single-family home.

Police say firefighting efforts were hampered by the frigid temperatures and an icy steep driveway that led to the home.

Investigators say that the fire began in the west corner of the first floor and spread to other areas of the structure causing significant damage.

The log home is considered a complete loss as a result of this fire.

There were no reported injuries associated with the fire.
