BURLINGTON — Starting Monday, January 3, 2022, South Willard Street will be closed to thru traffic between Shelburne Street and Howard Street.

This closure and a detour will be signed.

The signed detour will direct motorists traveling northbound to take Shelburne Street to St. Paul Street to Howard Street.

Motorists traveling southbound on South Willard Street will be directed to take Howard Street to St. Paul Street to Shelburne Street.

Residential access along South Willard and Chittenden Drive will be maintained.

The closure will be in place 24 hours a day for approximately eight weeks, the Vermont AOL said.

The existing US 7/Shelburne Street detour route will remain in place to accommodate blasting directing northbound motorists to Flynn Avenue, Pine Street, and Howard Street to avoid delays as construction continues for the Shelburne Street Roundabout Project.

Southbound traffic on US 7/South Willard Street and St. Paul Street is being detoured to Howard Street, Pine Street, and Flynn Avenue.

US Route 7/Shelburne Street will remain open to local traffic to accommodate access to businesses and residences.

Remaining in effect, trucks are required to use the truck detour at all times to avoid the Shelburne Street work area.

Northbound trucks follow the detour to Flynn Avenue, Pine Street, and Main Street.

Southbound trucks are detoured down Main Street, to Pine Street to Flynn Avenue to US-7/Shelburne Street.

Trucks seeking to make pick-ups or deliveries to businesses within the detour area will have access to locations within the work zone but may experience delays.
