Police: Suspicious activity reported in St. Johnsbury leads to arrest

ST. JOHNSBURY — A 28-year-old man from Lyndon was arrested following an incident in St. Johnsbury yesterday.

Authorities were notified of a suspicious vehicle on the Fairbanks Scales parking lot on Portland Street at around 9:00 a.m.

Police say they located the vehicle and met with the driver, identified as Albert Vieira.

Following an investigation, Vieira was driving the vehicle with a criminally suspended driver’s license and in violation of court-ordered conditions of release.

During the investigation, Vieira displayed signs of impairment.

He was administered standardized field sobriety tests and arrested for the violations and suspicion of driving under the influence.

He was transported to the St. Johnsbury State Police barracks and processed prior to being released on a citation to appear in court.
