SEARSBURG — A 27-year-old woman from New York was involved in a rollover crash in Searsburg yesterday.
The single-vehicle crash took place on Vermont Route 9 at around 11:30 a.m.
A Lexus SUV was seen on its passenger side at the scene.
Troopers made contact with the driver who was identified as Marolyn Liang, of Oakland Gardens, NY.
Police say that Liang was traveling west at approximately 40 miles-per-hour while traveling downhill.
Liang told police that she applied the brakes and in doing so began to lose control of her vehicle due to ice on the road surface.
The vehicle continued off the north shoulder of the road into a ditch where the vehicle began to roll and strike a utility pole just off the road.
Liang and her passenger were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and reported minor injuries.
Troopers were assisted on scene by members of the Wilmington Fire Department, Deerfield Valley Rescue, Vermont Agency of Transportation, and Green Mountain Power.
