MT. HOLLY — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in Mount Holly this morning.
The crash took place on Vermont Route 103, west of Route 140, at around 7:20 a.m.
The weather was freezing rain and the road surface was ice-covered and slippery.
According to the report, the driver, Alicia Horwedel, 29, of Springfield, was headed east when she crested a slight hill and observed Demoy Robinson, 29, of Killington, in the eastbound lane with hazard lights on.
Police say Horwedel applied the brakes but the icy road condition made her lose traction and start to fishtail.
Horwedel’s vehicle front-end collided with Robinson’s rear-end.
Robinson had just crashed into the guardrail avoiding a deer in the road and had pulled over.
He was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center by Regional Ambulance Service for possible shoulder injuries.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
