Fred’s Energy helps local toy drive

DERBY — Each year, Fred’s Energy helps collect toys during the holiday season for several local non-profit organizations, one in each of their office location service areas.

Toys are then distributed back into the local communities through each non-profit’s holiday program. Their goal is that no child goes without a toy under the tree.

Fred’s Energy had a drawing to thank everyone who donated toys selected two names from all the entries received at the Derby office.

Congratulations to Cindy Royer of Barton for winning the 100 gallons of heating fuel, and Barbara Komendat, also from Barton, who won the $100 gift card with an insulated grocery tote bag, all courtesy of Fred’s Energy.

“Thank you, friends and neighbors, for your generous toy donations dropped off to our Fred’s Energy main office in Derby for the NEKCA and Northpoint “Toys for Kids” toy drive,” Fred’s Energy said in a statement.

Merry Hamel from NEKCA and Rachel Twofoot from Northpoint them on Friday, December 17, to pick up the toys to distribute to local families just in time for Christmas.

The other toy drives we collected ended December 1st in Lyndonville for the St. Johnsbury Fire Dept, and the “Kingdom Santa Fund,” December 3rd in Morrisville, for the Lamoille Family Center “Holiday Project,” and December 10th in Richford, for “Operation Happiness.

All were a big success, making certain there will be lots of smiles this holiday season.
