Police looking for driver who ran over firehose in St. Johnsbury

ST. JOHNSBURY — The St. Johnsbury Police Department is requesting information about a blue van that drove over firehose on Railroad Street yesterday.

Driving over a firehose is a civil violation worth a $162 ticket.

The damage a firehose can sustain may require its replacement, which can be over $600 for a 100-foot section.

Police say it was a volunteer fire department’s hoseline, meaning that the department may have to replace the hose with limited funds.
