MONDAY 12-06-21

  • Conducted Patrols in 5 towns. Traffic stops were conducted for motor vehicle violations with warnings and/ or tickets issued.

TUESDAY 12-07-21

  • Conducted Patrols in 5 towns. Traffic stops were conducted for motor vehicle violations with warnings and/ or tickets issued.
  • Tuesday is our fingerprinting day! If you need your fingerprints taken for any purpose, please call our office at (802) 388-2981 for further details and to schedule an appointment.
  • Stalking – Middlebury – Received a report of an individual being stalked while shopping at various businesses in Middlebury and to their home in another part of the county. The investigation is ongoing.
  • Training – Waterbury – A deputy attended the Glock armorers course at Parros Gun Shop in order to become more proficient in training deputies in how to use the Glock firearm.

WEDNESDAY 12-08-21

  • Conducted Patrols in 4 towns. Traffic stops were conducted for motor vehicle violations with warnings and/ or tickets issued.
  • Escort – Fair Haven to Middlebury – Deputies provided a blue light escort for an oversized load from Fair Haven to Middlebury.

THURSDAY 12-09-21

  • Conducted Patrols in 5 towns. Traffic stops were conducted for motor vehicle violations with warnings and/ or tickets issued.

FRIDAY 12-10-21

  • Conducted Patrols in 4 towns. Traffic stops were conducted for motor vehicle violations with warnings and/ or tickets issued.
  • Animal Problem – Salisbury – An animal was turned in to a shelter in Middlebury and was in very poor health. An investigation revealed that the person that had dropped the animal off had found the animal on their back porch and they had attempted to get the animal healthy again but were unable to do so on their own. It is unknown at this time where the animal came from.
  • Overweight Violation – Monkton – While on patrol on Bristol Rd, the Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement deputy observed a Tractor Trailer operating on a weight restricted road. The TT unit was stopped and did not have a permit to be operating on that road. The vehicle was weighed, and it was 20,000 lbs overweight. A ticket was issued for the violation.
  • Training – South Burlington – Several deputies attended training at the South Burlington Police Department for education on Fair and Impartial Policing. Though this training is required by the State, we welcome each opportunity we have to educate ourselves on how to remain impartial in our duties. We strive to treat each member of our community equally no matter who they are.

MONDAY – FRIDAY

  • Provided security at the Mahady Courthouse in Middlebury. This includes screening visitors as they enter the Courthouse and security in the Courtroom during hearings.
  • The Retired Sheriff, Don Keeler, served paperwork for Civil Process.
