JOHNSON — Four people were arrested following an investigation that was opened in Johnson on Thursday.

On December 4, authorities responded to a burglary that occurred at Jolley’s Store on Vermont Route 15.

During the investigation, video surveillance showed what appeared to be an adult male breaking into the store and stealing a significant amount of cigarettes.

Evidence that was collected over the next few days led investigators to believe that the suspect came from the area of Part Street.

On December 9, the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department again responded to Jolley’s store for another break-in.

Police say the suspect had a similar build to the first suspect from days prior.

As a result of what was seen by deputies, investigators were led to the residences of 85 and 75 Park Street in Johnson.

The Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department, in conjunction with the Morristown Police Department, Stowe Police Department, and Vermont Fish and Game executed a search warrant at both Park Street addresses.

As a result of the search, police say Cherie Salls, 44, and Jeffrey Morel, 34, were taken into custody and charged for possession of heroin and cocaine.

Jeffrey Barnes, 36, was charged with possession of stolen property.

Louis (Ricky) Marsh Jr., 48, was charged with burglary and lodged on outstanding warrants.
