FAIRFAX — A 34-year-old woman from St. Albans was seriously injured during a crash in Fairfax early this morning.

Emergency workers responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Interstate 89, near mile marker 111.6, at around 1:00 a.m.

The driver, identified as Ashleigh Tillson, was traveling south when her vehicle exited the lane and struck the rumble strips, police say.

Tillson lost control of the vehicle, and it rolled several times across the median.

She was trapped underneath the vehicle when troopers arrived on the scene.

Police say Tillson was transported to UVM Medical Center for serious injuries.

The roadway was shut down for a period of time while the scene was being cleared.
