Vehicle sent airborne during crash in Clarendon

CLARENDON — A vehicle was sent airborne during a crash that took place in Clarendon this morning.

Police and fire crews responded to Route 103, at the intersection of Birch Lane, at around 7:20 a.m.

According to the report, Christopher Lafreniere, 40, of East Wallingford, was headed east when he lost traction due to water and ice on the roadway.

The vehicle crossed into the westbound lane and drove off the south shoulder.

Lafreniere struck a mailbox and culvert head-on causing the vehicle to vault into the air before stopping at a position of uncontrolled rest off the south shoulder.

Police say Lafreniere suffered minor injuries and was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center.

The vehicle was removed by Boondock Motors due to disabling damage.
