Snowy conditions cause car to crash into VTRANS sign in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — A driver walked away without injuries following a single-vehicle crash in Charlotte on Friday.

The crash took place on US Route 7, near the Ferrisburgh town line, at around 7:00 p.m.

The driver, identified as Justin Chabot, 45, of Hudson Falls, NY, told police he was traveling south when he lost control of his vehicle due to snow and slush-covered roads.

Chabot’s vehicle went off the west side of the road and collided with a VTRANS digital road sign, before coming to rest down a steep embankment.

Chabot reported no injuries and his vehicle was subsequently towed by Handy’s.
