CRAFTSBURY — A generous supporter upped the excitement over the summer at the Craftsbury Community Care Center, by donating a beautiful cedar pavilion.

The structure adds to the gazebo, sponsored benches, and landscaping along the center’s new NVDA-funded walking path.

The pavilion had to be moved from its original location, so CCCC board member Steve Pitkin and then board member Penelope Doherty, gathering friends of CCCC for help.

Glen Burkholder of Town & Country Sheds agreed to move it to the new site, Tim Beauregard prepped the structure for the move, and Cody Thompson of CT Stoneworks agreed to install it.

Craftsbury residents Eva Church, daughter Penelope Doherty, Rob and Barb Strong, along with the donor, all partnered to underwrite move costs.

With the installation now complete, the newly named Friends Pavilion honors a group of community friends who came together to provide a gracious place of respite for Care Center residents.

Craftsbury Community Care Center staff and board members say they wish to thank all who made these amenities possible.
