WESTFIELD — A 30-year-old man from Troy was killed during a two-vehicle crash in Westfield this morning.

Emergency responders were called to Vermont Route 100 in Westfield, just south of Buck Hill Road, at around 8:00 a.m.

Police say Corey Pion was headed south when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to spin and veer into the northbound lane, where he collided with Marc Mcallister, 71, of Lowell.

Mcallister attempted to slow down and veer to the right in an attempt to avoid the collision but Pion crossed the center line and slid into his path of travel.

Pion was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.

A portion of Route 100 was closed for around 3 hours due to the crash.

Wright’s Towing and B&B Motorsports arrived at the scene to remove the vehicles.

Troy Fire Department and Mississquoi EMS were all at the scene.

Police say Mcallister was transported to North Country Hospital for minor injuries.
