ORWELL — A 46-year-old man from Leicester is facing charges following a crash with serious injuries in Orwell that took place earlier this year.

On September 19, authorities were notified of a single-vehicle crash on Martin Hill Road at around 6:25 p.m.

The driver was identified as Craig Disorda.

According to the report, Disorda was headed south on Raymond Hill Road when he lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle hit a tree off the east portion of Martin Hill Road.

Police say he was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was transported to Porter Hospital, and flown to the University of Vermont Medical Center.

Following an investigation, police say they detected several signs of impairment.

Police also say Disorda was driving a motor vehicle on a public highway while having a criminally suspended license in the State of Vermont.

Disorda was issued a citation to appear in court at a later date to answer the charges of DUI #1 and criminal DLS.

Troopers were assisted on scene by members of Orwell Fire Department, Orwell First Response, and Middlebury Regional Emergency and Medical Services.
