ADDISON — Police are investigating a shooting incident that took place in Addison on Wednesday.
Authorities were notified of a victim with a gunshot wound at a home on Pleasant View Drive at around 7:55 p.m.
Emergency medical services with the Vergennes Area Rescue, Addison Fire Department and Life-Net were dispatched and responded.
Police say one adult male was transported by helicopter (Life-Net) to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington with a gunshot wound.
The victim was pronounced deceased at UVM Medical Center.
Police say the initial investigation indicates the shooting was “accidental and self-inflicted.”
